Work Systems Management Support
Client: Williams
Duration: April 2018 – September 2020
Project Location: Houston, TX
Work locations: Houston, TX – Tulsa, OK
Scope: Building a consistent equipment hierarchy across Williams' gas pipes assets
A key component of successful, efficient, and reliable operations is a work management system that supports the best industry practices of Asset Management. The bedrock of that work management systems is an accurate standardized register of maintainable equipment in an easy to follow hierarchy structure.
The client planned to transition to using Maximo as their standard work management system for managing all their assets. The challenge was to develop a Maintenance Hierarchy with a consistent standard from very different standard P&IDs across their compression stations, meter stations, and valve sites.
The objective of the project was to:
- create a hierarchy build standard for the whole organization
- manage scheduling challenges with revised P&ID deliveries
- use a global resource pool to maximize the flexibility of work throughput while minimizing overall cost
- maximize technical review and input from each operational site
Petrofac was able to use our vast experience of building and managing work management systems for our own assets and our global client base. We utilized our proprietary software BuildME™ to allow resources from all over the world to contribute to the hierarchy build in a well-structured and controlled approach. Most importantly, the client and their numerous operational teams were able to take part in this orchestrated use of BuildME.
Petrofac has the people, technologies, and processes to ensure local expectations can be met with global technical resources.
